I run animation, illustration, drawing, book making and visual storytelling workshops as part of my work. I work with people of all ages and abilities, from primary school children to grown-ups and older people in the community.
Due to lockdown most of my workshops have recently taken place on Zoom, but many of the photos here are from workshops which took place before 2020. Most workshops can be adapted so that they can be run via Zoom or another online platform.
If you have an idea for a workshop you would like me to run, please get in touch!
Two films I made during lockdown showing you how to create simple animations at home.
'Animating Nature' was commissioned by MOSTYN gallery for EDGE for schools.
'Animating Water' was created for online festival World Ocean Day For Schools.
In 2019 I ran workshops with people in the community at TAPE in Old Colwyn to help them create this animation celebrating the National Eisteddfod.
In early 2020 I ran an experimental animation workshop with 14-18 year olds at Galeri in Caernarfon for Portffolio: Codi'r Bar.
Humanimation: End of the Road Festival 2014
I ran drop-in 'Humanimation' workshops at End of the Road festival, helping participants to create super short storyboards and animations of themselves in action, using props and a range of makeshift backdrops - and their vivid imaginations of course!
Smoke Signals: Portffolio Workshop Feb 2018
'Shipwrecked' and 'Where's My Chips?': Portffolio Workshop July 2017
I worked with 14-18 year olds at Mostyn Gallery as part of their Portffolio programme, helping them to create short animated films, inspired by exhibitions at the gallery and the seaside town of Llandudno. Click on the pictures to watch the films!
In early 2019 I ran an experimental animation workshop for parents and toddlers at Galeri in Caernarfon. Participants had little or no experience of animation, and the toddlers took the lead!
